Any questions?
Who are the teachers?
Under the philosophy that 'language is not something you learn — it's something you live,' KLV selects only teachers who genuinely research new and more engaging ways to teach. All homeroom teachers hold Level 1 or Level 2 Korean Language Teacher Certificates and maintain a warm, friend-like attitude so learning never feels like a chore.
Won't I be missing out on enough class time?
Beyond 5 formal classes per week (choose 16 or 20 hours per week), the core benefit is the informal Korean exposure that comes from living together in the teacher's home. From breakfast conversations to evening chats, you're immersed in Korean all day — far more than any language school. It completely solves the problem of reverting to an English environment the moment class ends.
Can I join if I don't know any Korean at all?
Yes, complete beginners (even those who don't know Hangul) are welcome. However, basic English communication is required. Your teacher will first introduce the minimal Korean needed for class — such as 써요, 읽어요, and 말해요 — before lessons begin. The first week focuses on basic Hangul and pronunciation.
Where are the tutor homes located?
They are located in central Seoul with convenient access to public transport. You can reach anywhere in the city easily, with most homes concentrated in Mapo-gu, Seodaemun-gu, and Dongjak-gu. Exact locations are shared during the matching stage.
How do I get a visa?
For programs up to 12 weeks (KLV's maximum), most nationalities can enter visa-free or on a short-term visit (C-3) visa. Some countries may require a separate visa, and we'll help you with the application and document preparation during the consultation process.
What is the payment and refund policy?
The program fee can be paid in two instalments: a deposit (30%) and a balance (70%). Refunds are processed as follows. 〈Deposit〉 - Cancellation within 7 days of payment → full refund - Cancellation 8–30 days after payment → 50% refund - Cancellation after 30 days → no refund 〈Balance〉 - Cancellation more than 30 days before program start → full refund - Cancellation within 30 days of program start → no refund (deposit and balance) Refunds are processed within 14 business days of the confirmed cancellation. International transfer fees and exchange rate differences are the payer's responsibility.
Can dietary needs due to religion or allergies be accommodated?
Absolutely. We collect information about vegetarian, halal, allergy, and other dietary requirements during the matching stage and pass them on to the tutor family. Everything is arranged in advance, so there's no need to worry.
Is TOPIK exam preparation possible?
Yes, it is. If you let us know when signing up that you're preparing for TOPIK, we'll prioritise matching you with a teacher who has experience in exam preparation. We'll tailor the curriculum to your target level and exam date, and can design focused sessions on each section — reading, writing, and listening. Because of the LearnStay format, everyday conversations outside of class also serve as natural speaking practice, and many students experience rapid improvement especially in spoken Korean.
