[K-Food] 🍜 Hangang Picnic: The Magic of "Riverfront Ramen" and a Picnic Mat!
2024-05-10
"What is the one thing you definitely want to do in Korea?"
The real charm of Korea lies not just in its sleek skyscrapers, but in the relaxed moments found between them. When the warm sunlight hits and a gentle breeze begins to blow, people in Seoul gather at the river as if by magic.
During your stay at our homestay, we want you to spend a day not just as a tourist, but as a true Seoulite. And the best place to start is the heart of Seoul—Hangang Park!

1. The Golden Setup: "Dot-jari" (Picnic Mat)
First, you need to find your spot. You can easily rent a "Dot-jari" (picnic mat) and a small table at the park entrance. Find a nice patch of grass under a tree, kick off your shoes, and just feel the breeze. Our homestay family might even let you in on some hidden "secret spots" with the best views!
2. The Magic Machine: Auto-Cooking Ramen
Head to any convenience store inside the park. Pick your favorite ramen, and the staff will give you a special foil bowl. Take it to the instant cooking machine outside. Just press one button, and voila!—the machine boils the water and cooks the noodles to perfection in exactly 3 minutes. You’ll have to taste it yourself to find out why ramen always tastes better outdoors!
💡 Pro Tip: Buy a raw egg and add it when the timer says 1:30 left. And remember, Kimchi is a must!
3. Delivery to Your Mat? Yes, It’s Possible!
Did you know you can have fried chicken or pizza delivered directly to your picnic mat at Hangang Park? Look for the "Delivery Zones" (Baedal-zone). It’s one of the most surprising and convenient parts of Korean culture that every visitor falls in love with.
4. Sunsets and City Lights 🌃
Be sure to stay until the sun goes down. The bridges light up, the Banpo Rainbow Fountain begins its show, and the city’s reflection on the water is breathtaking. It’s the perfect time to share stories with your friends or your host family.

✨ Shall we go for a picnic?
Wondering which Hangang Park is the best to visit? Just ask your host family! Whether it’s Yeouido, Banpo, or Ttukseom, we can help you find the perfect spot for your very first "Ice-Americano" and Ramen picnic.
